With the official TT races over there is an event going on in another town called Castletown where there is more road racing going on.
Candice and I went down there with Steve to check it out. When we arrived we gave away more freebies before then being invited to go in the safety car which follows the riders around the track whilst they are racing. We didn’t hesitate in saying yes so we jump in the Jaguar seat belts on and off we went at an average speed of 120mph. It was amazing the corners were so sharp but the driver had control of the car. We then went round the track for a second time at 140mph- so much fun but of course you should only do this with a professional!
After we had been there for the day and well in to the evening, we headed back. On the journey back to the town we were staying in (Douglas), there is a bridge called ‘Fairy Bridge’ that you pass. You have to wave at the fairies as you pass by; otherwise they say it is bad luck. We did this and then stopped on the side of the road straight after to get out of the car and go to the bridge. It was calming yet sad once you were there as people had placed items of clothing, photos and letters tied to the trees for the fairies to read. It is said that that they keep you safe. Candice and I wrote a note and left it on the tree. We also placed a coin into the river and made a wish each. It was such a lovely feeling and only those who have been to Fairy Bridge will understand what we mean.
